CapitaLand Hope Foundation has built 31 schools for more than 28,000 children since 2005

CapitaLand Hope Foundation, established in 2005 as the philanthropic arm of the CapitaLand Group, focuses its giving on education, health and wellbeing for children, youth and seniors in the markets where the property developer operates. Its best-known initiative is the Hope School programme, which funds the construction of schools for underserved communities across Asia.

As of its most recently disclosed count, CapitaLand says it has helped build 31 schools benefiting more than 28,000 children across China, Vietnam and India since the programme began. Individual school builds have continued to be announced in the years since, including a school in Pune serving more than 500 children and one in Bangalore serving more than 400.

Alongside school construction, the foundation runs the CapitaLand Kids Programme (branded CapitaKids), which since 2012 has provided individual underprivileged children with financial support for a full 10 years beyond primary school — with the foundation tracking each child’s progress to ensure continued access to education isn’t interrupted by family circumstances. More recently, CapitaLand has layered on a Community Resilience Initiative aimed at strengthening non-profits working in education, skills development and youth mental wellbeing across Asia.
