Singtel’s Touching Lives Fund has raised over S$57 million since it began

The Singtel Touching Lives Fund, anchored by recurring fundraising events such as the Singtel Charity Golf and Expressions Through Art, has raised more than S$57 million since it started, according to Singtel. The fund was originally built to support Singapore’s special education schools, and that remains a core beneficiary group.

In recent years, Singtel has widened the fund’s remit to digital enablement for other vulnerable groups, including seniors, migrant workers and low income families. A large part of this is Singtel’s role in the national Digital for Life movement, through which it runs workshops teaching seniors basic digital skills and scam awareness, alongside agencies including IMDA, the South West Community Development Council, and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.

Singtel says the digital inclusion work is a natural extension of its position as a telecommunications provider: as more essential services move online, the company argues that closing the digital divide for seniors and low income households addresses a problem its own shift to digital services could otherwise make worse.
